DAY 1 – Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Benhaddou – Dades Valley

Welcome to Marrakesh city airport. On this Erg Chebbi Desert Merzouga Tours, we will drive to Ouarzazate which is a former caravan city on the salt and silk route in the eastern foothills side of the Atlas Mountains. Ouarzazate is additionally the gateway to the Sahara.

Travel through the sensational and awesome landscape of the High Atlas Mountains. Glimpse the Adobe Berber village of Taddert and over the 2260 meters high Tizi-in-Tichka pass. We stop at the renowned Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, 30 kilometers far from Ouarzazate.

In fact, this kasbah is a most intriguing red earth castle dwelling on the ancient road of the Kasbahs, also it’s a UNESCO world heritage site. Your lunch will be by the Kasbah and after that keep on Dades Gorge passing first by Ouarzazate. “the Hollywood of Africa”, afterward through the “Street of the thousand Kasbahs”.

It is a fascinating “path full of beautiful sand castles”. Afterward, continue on the journey and stop at Kalaat Mgouna, “the rose’s city” which is famous for its roses and the annual festival during the harvest time in May. Finish your journey at the Dades Gorges in your lodging.

DAY 2 – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert

Today after breakfast and on this Erg Chebbi Desert Merzouga Tours, start your day through the valley to immerse in the spectacular rock formation “the monkey toes”, besides the presently-standing 19th century Kasbah of Ait Yul. After spending some time in the Dades valley, we’ll head to Tinrghir and the valley of Todra. In this latter immerse in the panoramic views of the ancient mud Berber villages that overlook the valley.

Get deep inside the Gorge and walk under a 300m high red cliff, in this place Rock-climbers come to enjoy their adorable sport. Our excursion proceeds to Erfoud and Rissani where our lunch will be taken. Then we depart towards the town of Merzouga the camel convoy will be waiting for you to start a guided camel trek by a professional Camel man to find the dazzling sand ocean of the Erg-Chebbi.

Furthermore, in the heart of the desert, you will spend your first night beneath the stars, or in a traditional Berber nomad tent as you prefer. (an unforgettable night).

DAY 3 – Explore the Desert Area

Wake up early morning by our camel man to admire what is the best sunrise of your life. At that point return to the town of Merzouga (to eat). While trekking appreciates the exceptional magnificence of the Erg Chebbi ridges and an excellent view of changing the light as the day advances.

After breakfast drive to the heavenly city of Rissani which is the Alawite Dynasty town and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Sheriff. Start exploring the area and visit the ruins of Ksar named Abbar. In fact, this kasbah dates from the 17th century. The town of Rissani is also surrounded by 360 Ksars; they are fortified castles with many towers and one big souk (open market) held three times a week.

So, tour Rissani’s famed Palmera and immerse in a glimpse of life lived on the fringe of the Desert. Your overnight will be at the village of Merzouga in Hotel or riad.

DAY 4 – Merzouga Desert – Alnif – Nkob – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we will leave for Rissani which was in the past Sijilmassa, and also the establishment of the dynasty of Alaouite, the present governing family in Morocco.

You’ll see the majority of the men hooded and ladies veiled, which makes it an extremely conventional Moroccan town. Then we drive towards Agdez, via Alnif and Tazarine, and we get to the picturesque Draa Valley situated on the edge of the Atlas Mountains, in which you’ll find hundreds of Berber Kasbahs. Finally, pass through Agdez and finish your journey in Ouarzazate.

DAY 5 – Ouarzazate – Fint Oasis – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

After breakfast, start your last day by a drive to the Fint Oasis which is on the top of a rocky peak. You’ll discover this lovely nestled in the wadi and surrounded by the incredible mountains. Then cross the unique Tizi –in-Tichka pass over the High Atlas Mountains.

This breathtaking range has snow on its peaks most of the year, and you’ll appreciate the beauty of the endless landscapes on the curving roads through the Berber villages. Then to Marrakech where the tour ends.
